Fuelling Growth: Dellyn’s commitment to small business success
When I first started out in the automotive industry over 25 years ago, I never imagined the incredible journey ahead. Early on, I got the chance to work closely with small businesses, learning about their ambitions and helping to overcome their fleet challenges. It didn’t take long to realise how much I loved finding solutions to help these businesses thrive. Fast forward to today, and as a Business Development Manager at FleetPartners, I’m lucky to still be doing what I’m passionate about: helping small businesses succeed.
The path that led me here has been anything but boring. I worked for 20 years at the Waikato Times selling automotive advertising, including eight years managing the Motor Times, so it’s fair to say I know a thing or two about this industry. That experience has taught me the value of delivering real results for businesses. Now, at FleetPartners, I focus on helping companies make smart decisions about vehicle leasing, so they can grow without stressing over cash flow or flexibility.
What I love most about my role is building relationships that go the distance. Sure, some conversations are about sorting a single lease, but many turn into long-term partnerships. The more I work with clients, the better I understand their goals, which means I can tailor leasing solutions that truly fit their needs. Seeing the difference our solutions make in their businesses is what makes it all worth it.
Another thing that keeps me energised is how fast things are changing in the leasing world. We’re living at a time when the vehicles are increasingly varied, with so many new makes and models in the market or coming soon - EV, PHEV, HEV etc. In addition to that, businesses’ needs are evolving all the time, and FleetPartners is constantly innovating new tools and technology to support our customers.
Being local is a huge bonus. The business community here is full of energy and collaboration, and it’s always inspiring to be part of it. Whether it’s hosting events or chatting about tailored solutions at dealership Fleet days, every interaction reminds me why I love what I do.
At the heart of it all, I’m driven by a simple goal: to make leasing as easy and accessible as possible. Whether it’s helping a small business take the plunge with their first fleet vehicle or teaming up with dealerships to create smarter options, I want every client to feel supported and confident in their choices.
Looking ahead, I’m excited about what’s next for FleetPartners and the businesses we work with. Together, we’ll tackle the challenges, embrace new ideas, and keep finding ways to help businesses succeed.
