FleetPartners recently hosted two Electric Vehicle showcase events in both Christchurch and Auckland then Wellington on 4 August. The EV Showcase events are co-hosted with Drive Electric New Zealand, bringing the EV industry together for our customers and businesses looking to learn more about EV Vehicles and charging solutions.
Guests were able to view over 20 PHEV and EV vehicles, as well as industry updates and insights from Drive Electric, FleetPartners and local businesses on the transition of their vehicle fleets to electric.
Our first event in Christchurch kicked off with Dean Sheed, Board member of Drive Electric and GM, Audi presenting an industry update. Trans Tasman Director of FleetPartners Dennis Kelly talked about areas businesses need to think about and action when looking to reduce their emissions through transitioning their vehicle fleets to low carbon alternatives.
Topics included why a carbon strategy and setting objectives is really important; how to understand the fleets purpose and how it is being used; considerations when selecting your vehicles; how to navigate the world of EV charging solutions and how to get your staff on board and excited about EVs. Dennis then invited guest panelists up from local businesses and industries to share their own fleet electrification journeys. Panelists included Allanah Kidd, Sustainability Manager from Ravensdown, Mick Brown, Head of Procurement from NZ King Salmon, Martin Miles, COO of ChargeNet, and Dean Sheed.
Local Christchurch vehicle dealers and manufacturers supplied vehicles for guests to touch and feel and experience the great variety of PHEVs and EVs in the market with over 20 makes and models on display. Local dealers included Gary Cockram Hyundai, Miles ŠKODA, Team Hutchinson Ford, Avon City Ford, Christchurch Mitsubishi, Blackwells Mazda, MG Motor NZ, Archibalds Audi, Audi NZ, Cockram Kia, Giltrap Group, Polestar, Hyundai Motors New Zealand, Mitsubishi NZ, and Christchurch Nissan.
Our second EV Showcase event with Drive Electric New Zealand was hosted at Armstrong's Peugeot Auckland.

Our Auckland panelists provided a variety of topical insights and we thank Leanne Hartshorne (Waka Kotahi), Emma Coote, (OfficeMax) and Dean Sheed, (Audi NZ) for their contribution.
A special thanks to Troy Kennedy, Nadine Bell and Lukas Roslin at Armstrong's Motor Group for the use of their fantastic venue.
We had a wide range of dealers and distributors supplying the vehicles on show - Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand, Ford Motor Company NZ, Giltrap Group, MG Motor New Zealand, Eagers Automotive NZ, Auckland Vehicles, Armstrong's, Nissan New Zealand and Hyundai Motors New Zealand.
New Zealand's EV charging partners displayed their products and services for guests to discuss the all important charging solutions for covering home, workplace and public charging - including JetCharge, Evnex, Vynco Industries (NZ) Ltd, ChargeNet - EV Charging Solutions and OpenLoop.
